General information

Why is HBF holding group fitness sessions?

We’re serious about our commitment to the health and happiness of our members. Regular physical activity is not only good for your body and weight management, it also helps reduce the effects of stress, depression and anxiety.

When are the sessions held?

The spring season of HBF Fitness runs from Monday 21 October to Sunday 15 December 2019.

What's the deal with the QR code?

On registration you will receive a unique QR code sent to you in a confirmation email. This QR code will work at every location for the entire 8-week program.

Remember to print out your confirmation email or bring along your smartphone and present the email with the QR code to your trainer for scanning at every session so we can confirm your participation.

NB: To save the email to your iPhone take a screen shot of your email by holding the lock and home buttons at the same time. This will save the image to your photos app.

What locations are available?

Spring sessions are held in 22 locations across WA, including regional sessions in Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie.

You are free to attend any location, but just remember that you only need to register once. You can find out more information about each location on the Locations page.

Can I attend multiple locations?

Yes, you are free to attend any location or program type, but just remember that you only need to register once each season. For example, you may want to attend a local suburban location on the weekends, but also attend a Kings Park session on a weekday. You should register for the location that you will most likely attend. The QR code you receive in your confirmation email will work at every location. Remember to bring that to every session.

Are there limited spaces for HBF Fitness?

Some locations have a limited number of places available due to the size of the venue. This will be monitored and registrations will close when the venue is at capacity.

Are sessions held on public holidays?

No, sessions are not held on public holidays. However, sessions will continue to be held on the Saturday of a long weekend. For example, if a public holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday, the session scheduled for the Saturday of that long weekend will still proceed.

How fit do I have to be?

Our programs are designed to accommodate a variety of fitness levels including seniors, families and those just starting out – so you don’t have to be an athlete to join in! We recommend you consult your doctor before starting any exercise program. If you have any medical concerns or previous injuries please inform your trainer at the beginning of each session you attend.

What program levels are available?

There are 4 program levels available – Beginner, Intermediate, HIIT and Family (Family is only run at select locations). You can find out more information about each level on the Program page.

How old do I have to be to participate?

For Beginner, Intermediate and HIIT sessions you need to have turned 15 years of age. If you’re over 15 but under 18 years of age, you will need your parent or guardian to complete the registration on your behalf.

Our Family sessions (held at select locations) are a great option for families with children 5 to 14 years.

 

Can my children attend Family sessions without an adult?

Our Family sessions are designed for parents to participate with their children aged 5 -14 years. Children are not able to participate without a parent/guardian.

Can I bring my child (under 5) with me to sessions?

No sorry, children under 5 are not able to come along to or participate in any of our sessions. While we would love to cater for younger children, our program is targeting the general population, so we need to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Therefore, the age limit has been assigned to ensure this is achievable.

Can I bring my dog along?

Unfortunately our fitness sessions are not suitable for pets, so please don’t bring them along.

What about people outside of Perth?

We’re running regional sessions in Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie. We will continue to work towards bringing HBF Fitness to more locations in the future.

I can't attend a session, is this ok?

We know things get in the way sometimes, that’s no problem! We’d love to see you as often as you can make it.

How do I find my location?

Will the sessions continue in wet weather or high temperatures?

Sessions always go ahead in wet weather and high temperatures unless there are exceptional circumstances. Your trainer will make the call on the day as to whether it is safe to continue the session. In the odd circumstance that we cancel a session prior to it commencing, we will do our best to let participants know.

Why isn’t Advanced running anymore?

Advanced sessions have been replaced by HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). HIIT involves bursts of high-intensity exercises followed by a low intensity period of rest or recovery to create a short sharp workout that will help you get results. These sessions are suitable for intermediate to advanced participants.

Why isn’t HIIT in Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie?

As these locations receive lower numbers, our trainers can work closer with participants to create a more tailored experience.

Registration information

How do I register?

Registering online before your first session is easy. You’ll just need to complete your personal details and answer some simple questions about your health and fitness.

Non HBF health members will need their credit card to make a payment through our secure online payment system. You will need to register each person separately through the registration process. Unfortunately we cannot accept registrations at the venues.

How much does it cost to attend a session?

Nothing if you’re a HBF health member!

Non HBF health members will have to pay for the whole eight-week fitness program when registering at a cost of $120 (inc GST).

What does the participant fee pay for?

Your participant fee contributes towards the cost of the trainers and running the sessions.

Do I need to register for multiple locations?

Why can't I seem to register for my preferred location?

Some locations have limited spaces due to the size of the venue. Once capacity is reached, registrations will be closed for that location.

Can I refund or transfer my registration fees?

No, your registration is non-refundable and not transferable. Your registration entitles participation for the person whose details are on the online booking system only.

Can I register on the day?

Registrations and payments must be made online prior to commencing a session. Unfortunately we cannot accept cash or manual credit card payments on the day so be sure to complete your online registration before you turn up to a session. Bring along your registration confirmation email – we’ll need to scan in your QR code.

I can't seem to register online.

I'm a HBF member but my details aren't working

I'm thinking of participating in both Family & one of the other groups. Which one should I register for?

Register for Family so we capture the details of your children. That QR code will then work for you in any of the other programs should you choose to attend.

How many children can I register for the Family sessions?

You can register up to three children for each adult participating in the sessions. Children must be 5-14 years old.

What if two parents are attending the Family sessions?

Each adult must register for the sessions separately. Each child is only required to be linked to one parent (up to three children per parent).

What if I lose my confirmation email which includes my QR code?

What if I lose my copy of the tax invoice as a non-member?

Please email enquiry@hbffitness.com.au to request a new copy of your registration email.

Do I get a QR code for each session?

No. You have the one QR code that will work for the entire 8-week program. You’ll receive this in your confirmation email. This QR code will work at every location and session – so you only need to register once if you plan to attend multiple locations.

I’ve registered for a previous season do I need to register again?

Yes, you will need to register again and obtain a new QR code before each season. This code is unique to you and can be used at any session and location for the eight-week season.

Can I register once the season has started?

Yes. You can register at any stage during the first 6 weeks of the season. Registrations for spring will close at midnight on Sunday 1 December 2019.

I can't attend a session, do I need to let anyone know?

No.

Your registration remains open for the entire 8 week season, so if your circumstances change and you can attend, please take your QR code along with you to have scanned by your trainer.  Once registered you can attend any location and session with the one registration and QR code – no need to cancel or change your booking.
